Andersen windows are designed to provide energy efficiency and durability, featuring a variety of styles and materials to suit any home aesthetic. Report Creation and Delivery
The team found a total of 186 opportunities for improvement. The top four included: aesthetics and minimalist design, error prevention, error recovery, and consistency and standards.
Of the 186 items, 51 were deemed Andersen Quick Wins. These Quick Wins were items that Andersen had the ability to fix within the the limitations of their tool.
The Quick Wins were ranking on a severity scale to help inform the product team on prioritization for their backlog.
When considering the severity of documented usability issues three factors were considered:
Frequency: Is the issue common or rare?
Impact: How difficult is it for the user to correct?
Persistence: Once issue is known, can the user overcome and avoid it or will it be a persistent issue bother?
Example of Findings
Error Prevention, 4 - Catastrophic usability issue
The “Mull” button is always available in the configurator. However, the user must get through enough selection to indicate a size for mulling to become available, but the user is not told that. Only certain windows are able to mull.
Provide guidance to the user so they know what need to be selected in order for a mull to become activated.
